The Facts about Sen. Wyden's State Waiver Provision

In order to empower states to create innovative new approaches for providing quality, affordable health insurance that works best for them, Senator Wyden authored a provision in the Healthy Americans Act and the PPAC Act that would make it possible for states to pursue their own health care solutions.

Wyden, Markey Encourage CMS to Implement Their "Independence At Home" Program Within 6 Months

Sen. Wyden and Rep. Markey received an award from the American Academy of Home Care Physicians at a ceremony kicking off "Independence at Home Day" on Capitol Hill. Wyden and Markey, authors of the Independence at Home demonstration program included in the Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act, also sent a letter to Acting CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner encouraging CMS to implement the program as soon as possible prior to the law's January 2012 deadline.

Senators Introduce "DISCLOSE Act"

Senators Schumer (D-NY), Feingold (D-WI), Wyden (D-OR), Bayh (D-IN) and Franken (D-MN) announced new legislation to blunt the harmful impacts from the Supreme Court's decision allowing corporations and other special interests to spend unlimited sums to influence elections.

A middle class tax cut;
Take away tax breaks for shipping jobs overseas;
A simplified one page tax form;
And new incentives for everybody to get ahead in a tough economy.
