Repeal and Replace the SGR

The Sustainable Growth Rate is a broken formula and has required numerous "patches" over the years. These temporary fixes have hurt patients and providers, cost millions of dollars, and jeopardized the Medicare guarantee. Chairman Wyden's bill, the Medicare SGR Repeal and Beneficiary Access Improvement Act repeals the SGR and replaces it with a payment system that rewards quality care and helps keep Medicare costs under control. The bill also provides continued funding for critical health services such as physical therapy and premium assistance for low income seniors.
